The Prayer Shower 🚿
Yesterday I was praying in the shower when, suddenly, I had this proper overwhelming feeling that my prayer had already been answered.
And that I should stop asking.
It was physical. I actually stopped.
It started in my shoulders. They dropped. Then I felt my whole body relax. It was almost like God said, “It’s sorted. Leave it with Me.”
I just stood there like, Waawu!😳
I don’t know what it is about the shower, but I’ve always felt like it’s one of those places where you can stand completely naked before your Maker - literally and otherwise.
No performance. Nothing to hide.
You can give thanks. Make your requests. Sing. Talk. Cry. Or just stand there and bask in His presence.
No faffing about trying to find the right words or say the “right” prayer. Just you and God.
Maybe it’s the sound of the running water. Maybe it’s because you’re starkers. 😂
Maybe it’s the way your voice echoes when you sing or talk to yourself.
Even the silence feels different.
Your thoughts somehow sound louder. Ideas start flowing. Plans are made. Entire lives are reorganised even before you wash your face. 😂
The shower is one of my favourite places to zone out. And sometimes, in that little space between the water, the silence and your own thoughts, something spiritual can happen.
Yesterday, it kuku did.
I came out of that shower rather chuffed, I won’t lie.
So anyway, 🎵if you don’t know what to praise the Lord for today, praise the Lord for me! 🎵🙌🏾😂
P.S. This prayer shower happened immediately after my first ever mirror-gazing experience, which was a whole other situation.
That’s ☕️Mbōk for another Friday, abeg! 😭😳🙆🏾♀️
